Nile Rodgers Brit Awards Viewing Party 2019

Last week saw the 39th Brit Awards Ceremony held at The O2, London Arena. Following the awards ceremony, legendary musician, producer and songwriter, Nile Rodgers, hosted a special “Brit Awards Viewing Party” at The Ned, in the City of London.

Nile was joined by many of his friends from all over the music world to celebrate, including Manager Merck Mercuriadis –  the Founder of Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd, which listed on the Specialist Fund Segment of the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange last year, raising over £200m gross equity capital on its admission. Singer Capital Markets, who acted as Financial Adviser and Bookrunner to Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd, were delighted to be in attendance at the event for a true evening of celebration.

Commenting ahead of the evening, Nile Rodgers and Merck Mercuriadis said: “This will be an exciting night of celebration with our friends from music, film and entertainment, but we really created this event and situated it at The Ned with our friends in the City in mind. In the 14 months we worked with our brokers [Singer Capital Markets] and investors to launch the Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd, we learned that there is a tremendous passion for music in the square mile and this is our way of being able to give everyone access on music’s biggest night of the year while supporting the important work of The Brit School and We Are Family Foundation .” 

Merck Mercuriadis said separately: “Educating the financial community that proven hit song royalties are as predictable and reliable, and therefore as investable, as gold or oil would not have been possible without the expert guidance of N Plus 1 Singer. Their understanding of what is required to truly make a listing a win win for everyone involved has played a critical role in our early success. I consider them a permanent part of our team.”
